Desmond K. Nakamoto graduated from Wake Forest University in North Carolina in 1996 with a degree in Political Science. He earned his JD in 1999 from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. While attending law school, Desmond clerked for Superior Court Judge Ronald S. Coen, assisting with research in various aspects of the law. After passing the California State Bar in 1999, Desmond wanted to serve his country by becoming a Judge Advocate, in the United States Army. After a rigorous selection process, Desmond was commissioned as an officer to the Judge Advocate General Corps, and began his legal career. As a military prosecutor, Desmond was sent all over the world, where he honed his litigation and trial advocacy skills representing the Army in numerous courts-martial.
While stationed in San Antonio, Texas, Desmond headed the legal department at the largest Physical Evaluation Board in the country, representing thousands of soldiers who suffered permanent disability as a result of their service. After fulfilling his military duty, Desmond entered private practice, concentrating solely on Workers’ Compensation defense. For over 10 years, Desmond has represented insurance companies and self- insured’s, both large and small. He constantly draws on his extensive trial and litigation experience, setting the bar for maximum results, to the benefit of his clients.
